Summary:

SEA SAFETY ADVISORY ALERT: Rough sea with significant wave height of 2.8 and strong winds of 38km/h will prevail over The Gambia territorial waters. These conditions are expected to continue and affect sea front and coastal communities until 1500UTC Sunday 2nd February 2025.

Fishermen and other users of the sea are advised to use maximum sea safety advisory in all fishing landing sites during the forecast period.

Inshore Waters - 1 & 2: Up to 20 Nautical miles (37km) inside the Sea

Winds: Will be mainly northerly flow, temporary changing to northeasterly flow in the morning hours, with speed ranging from 14 – 34 km/h.

Wave Height: will be 0.5–2.3 meters high.

Sea State: Slight to moderate

Weather: Dusty atmosphere and strong winds will prevail

Visibility: Moderate

Offshore Waters- 1 & 2: From 20 up to 200 Nautical Miles (37km - 370km) into the high Sea

Winds: Will be mainly northerly, becoming mainly northeasterly flow with speed ranging from 16 – 38 km/h.

Wave Height: Will be 1.9 – 2.8 meters high.

Sea State: Moderate to rough

Weather: Dusty atmosphere and strong winds will prevail

Visibility: Moderate
