SEA SAFETY ADVISORY ALERT: Rough sea with significant wave height of 2.5 to 3.0m and strong winds with a maximum speed of 35km/h will prevail over the onshore and offshore of the Gambia territorial water. These conditions are expected to continue and affect sea front and coastal communities until 1800UTC Friday 31st January 2025.
Fishermen and other users of the sea are advice to use maximum sea safety advisory in all fishing landing sites during the forecast period.
Inshore Waters- 1 & 2: Up to 20 Nautical miles (37km) inside the Sea
Winds: Will be northerly flow at the beginning of the forecast,becoming mainly northeasterly flow from tomorrow morning towards the end of the forecast period with a speed ranging from 06 – 30 km/h.
Wave Height: will be 2.0–2.5 meters high.
Sea State: Moderate to Rough
Weather: Hazy atmosphere and strong winds will prevail
Visibility: Moderate
Offshore Waters- 1 & 2: From 20 up to 200 Nautical Miles (37km - 370km) into the high Sea
Winds: Will be northerly flow at the beginning of the forecast,becoming mainly northeasterly flow from tomorrow morning towards the end of the forecast period with a speed ranging from 15 – 35 km/h.
Wave Height: Will be 2.5 – 3.0 meters high.
Sea State: Rough
Weather: Hazy atmosphere and strong winds will prevail
Visibility: Moderate
