Summary:

SEA SAFETY ADVISORY ALERT: The sea is expected to be rough with significant wave height and strong winds especially over the territory of The Gambia.

Fishermen and other users of the sea are advised to use maximum sea safety advisory regulations in all fishing landing sites across the country. This condition is expected to commence Wednesday on the 29th January 2025 at 1800z through on the late afternoon of Friday 31st January 2025 at 1500z

Inshore Waters- 1 & 2: Up to 20 Nautical miles (37km) inside the Sea

Winds: Will be mainly northeasterly flow with a speed ranging from 05 – 22 km/h.

Wave Height:  will be 0.5–1.7 meters high.

Sea State:  Slight to Moderate

Weather:  Slight haze

Visibility: Moderate

Offshore Waters- 1 & 2: From 20 up to 200 Nautical Miles (37km - 370km) into the high Sea

Winds: Will vary between North and Northeasterly flow with a speed ranging from 08 – 28 km/h.

Wave Height:  Will be 1.5 – 2.5 meters high.

Sea State: Moderate

Weather: Slight haze

Visibility: Moderate
