SEA SAFETY ADVISORY ALERT: Rough sea with significant wave heights of (2.6m) and strong winds of (38km/h) will prevail over The Gambia territorial waters from today 2300UTC to Sunday 1000UTC 06th APRIL,2025.

Strong wind speed and significant wave heights are expected to cause disruption to beach front activities.                                              

Fishermen and other users at the sea are advice to use maximum sea safety regulations at all fishing landing sites during the period. 

Inshore Waters- 1 & 2: Up to 20 Nautical miles (37km) inside the Sea

Winds: Will vary between northwesterly and northerly flow with a speed ranging from 19- 34km/h.

Wave Height:  will be 1.6 – 2.5 meters high.

Sea State:  Moderate to Rough

Weather: Fine

Visibility: Good

Offshore Waters- 1 & 2: From 20 up to 200 Nautical Miles (37km - 370km) into the high Sea

Winds: Will be mainly northerly flow with a speed ranging from 21 – 38km/h.

Wave Height:  Will be 2.0 – 2.6 meters high.

Sea State: Moderate to Rough
